THE PRESBYOND LASER
PRESBYOND is a latest generation presbyopia treatment software working with the ZEISS MEL 90 laser and the CRS Master ZEISS station. This treatment software uses a non-linear aspheric treatment profile to correct post-operative spherical aberrations factoring in a patient’s age, pre-operative ametropia (myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism) and pre-operative optical aberrations. PRESBYOND does not induce vision loss, notably in patients who only suffer from presbyopia. PRESBYOND does not induce a reduction in visual quality at night. This method has the advantage of a very low potential for serious complications.
Laser treatments are performed using the LASIK all LASER technique. This method combines the use of two lasers whose precision and safety are unanimously recognized:
- The laser FEMTOSECONDE VISUMAX ZEISS
- The EXCIMER MEL 90 ZEISS laser
CLINICAL PROCEDURE OF YOUR PRESBYOND OPERATION
Your operation in three steps:
Before your operation
On the day of your intervention you will spend an hour with us. Upon your arrival at the centre a pre-medication will be given to you. You will be given a sterile operating robe to wear.
During your operation
During your procedure you will be lying on an ophthalmological chair. After following strict antiseptic rules, a topical anesthesia will be applied. A few drops of eye-drops are enough. The 20-minute procedure consists of two steps:
- The VISUMAX laser creates a corneal flap. The flap is lifted by your surgeon.
- The visual disorder is corrected using the Laser EXCIMER MEL 90. This will reshape the cornea to correct your visual impairment. Your surgeon will then gently reposition the flap that naturally adheres to the cornea.
After that the treatment is finished. The procedure is not painful and is perfectly safe.
After your operation
For your departure it is necessary to be met by an accompanying person. A rest of 3 to 4 hours with closed eyes is advised. Post-operative care is limited to anti-inflammatory and antibiotic eye drops. Post-operative check-ups can be performed between 1 and 10 days. It is advisable to avoid situations where there may be a risk of infection for 3 to 4 days.
